our approach

we believe that every headshot should tell a story, and we want to help you craft a functional piece of art that is compelling, authentic, and specific. our favorite clients are those who come to the studio with a destination in mind, who approach the headshot process with the same passion and attention to detail they would when preparing for a role. our studios are giant toyboxes full of light and tools to shape it, and like human beings, no two of our headshots are ever quite the same. we come to this work with a bottomless well of playful openness and gratitude, which, combined with our decades of experience, will create an environment where you feel free to express yourself and be seen. what are you looking for from your next headshot session? just tell us- we’re ready to listen.

On the other hand…

This really isn’t that big of a deal. Don’t sweat it. We got you. Bring a bunch of clothes, get a good night’s sleep, and we’ll take care of the rest.

meet nile scott hawver:

this is a non-comprehensive list of things that nile might be holding throughout the day: a computer mouse, a mandolin (instrument), a mandolin (slicer), his son, a welding torch, a switch pro controller (still not done with tears of the kingdom), his dog’s leash, an impact driver (team makita), his breath, a collings d1h acoustic guitar, an egg sandwich, his wife’s hand, a script, the steering wheel of a 2014 f-150 long bed, a voltage sensor, a book about chairs, an oat milk dirty chai, but mostly, a camera. he’s finally living in nyc after dreaming of doing so for over 20 years,  and is so excited to meet you, hear your story, and take your picture.

THE STUDIOS

it started in 2016 when nile opened his first studio, a five-hundred-square-foot space in the 119 braintree street building in allston, ma. the property management made the mistake(?) of telling nile it was ok to share his space with others - ten years and a hundred chairs later,  nile rents and operates three huge and beautiful spaces in new england. they have hosted thousands of fellow creatives and their projects, and nile works out of all three spaces as well. he plans to open a studio in nyc in late 2025.
